Built Around People,
Shaped by the Sea
Chiang Sala began with a straightforward belief: that the later years of life deserve the same care and intention as any other chapter — and that the right setting makes all the difference.
Back to HomeA Community That Grew From Listening
Chiang Sala was founded after years of conversations with international retirees living in Phuket — people who had made a thoughtful decision to spend their later years in one of the world's most beautiful coastal settings, but who often found themselves without a structured community to call their own.
The result is a community that feels unhurried and genuinely welcoming. Located on Chalong Bay Road in Mueang Phuket, the property sits close to the water, offering views and breezes that set the tone for daily life here.
We do not operate as a medical facility or a conventional care home. Instead, Chiang Sala occupies a space that many people find they need most — somewhere between living alone and living with full-time care. A place with structure, company, and support, without the clinical atmosphere that can make some residences feel impersonal.
Our Mission
To provide seniors with a meaningful, dignified community by the sea — one where residents feel respected, engaged, and genuinely at home. We aim to create conditions where each person can shape their own daily rhythm within a setting of warmth and thoughtful support.
Our Values
- Respect for autonomy — residents set their own pace.
- Warmth without intrusion — staff are present but never overbearing.
- Cultural attentiveness — we serve an international community with care.
- Honest communication — we are clear about what we offer and what we do not.

How We Maintain a Thoughtful Community
These are the standards that guide our day-to-day approach to running Chiang Sala — from how we communicate to how we care for the shared spaces residents call home.
Resident Privacy
All personal information is handled with discretion. We do not share details of residents or membership holders without their explicit consent.
Consistent Hospitality
Standards of room preparation, meal quality, and common area upkeep are maintained consistently — not just at arrival, but throughout each resident's time with us.
Multilingual Communication
Our team communicates in English and Thai. For residents with other language backgrounds, we arrange appropriate support and translation where needed.
Safety & Facilities
The property meets Thai safety regulations for residential buildings. Fire safety equipment, clear emergency procedures, and accessible pathways are maintained throughout the premises.
Food Hygiene Standards
The kitchen operates under Thai Food and Drug Administration standards. Ingredients are sourced fresh and menus are reviewed to accommodate dietary requirements and preferences.
Transparent Agreements
All membership and residency arrangements are set out clearly in writing before any commitment is made. We encourage prospective residents to read agreements carefully and ask questions.
Non-Medical Senior Living in Phuket
Senior living communities in Thailand's coastal regions occupy a distinctive space in the broader landscape of retirement options. Unlike residential care homes, which focus on physical health management, or hotel-style retirement villages, which can feel transient and impersonal, Chiang Sala is built around the social and domestic aspects of living well in one place over time.
Phuket's year-round warmth, developed infrastructure, and established international community make it an appealing setting for seniors who want to remain active and engaged. Chalong, where Chiang Sala is located, sits in the south of Phuket island — closer to the quieter bays and away from the more crowded tourist areas of the north. This gives the community a settled, neighbourhood-like quality that residents frequently mention as one of its most valued aspects.
The breadth of arrangements available at Chiang Sala — from a social club membership to a full permanent residence — reflects a recognition that seniors are not a single category of person with a single set of needs. Some people arrive curious, wanting to experience coastal community life before deciding anything. Others come knowing exactly what they are looking for. In either case, the approach here is the same: straightforward, attentive, and respectful of each person's own sense of what a good life looks like.
Come and See the Community in Person
We welcome visits from prospective residents, family members, and anyone who simply wants to learn more. There is no obligation involved — just a conversation and a look around.
